The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Andreas Gardiner of the State Attorney’s Office Homicide Unit.
The victim was reported missing in August 2023. Despite his disappearance, banking activity on his account continued, raising suspicions.
The defendant, who lived with his father, provided conflicting accounts of his father’s whereabouts, including claims of hunting trips and leaving the country. Evidence contradicted his statements, showing his father’s phone remained at the Alva home.

A search warrant at the residence revealed blood stains and numerous air fresheners. Further investigation uncovered the defendant’s purchase of a large freezer around the time of his father’s disappearance.
A second search warrant led to the discovery of the freezer, concealed and running within the home. The victim’s body was found inside.
