A Florida man, found guilty of multiple counts of child pornography, has been sentenced to twenty years in the Florida Department of Corrections.
In June of 2021, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Shore Line Circle in DeFuniak Springs, which led to the arrest of William Gomes III, 47.
Gomes was interviewed and ultimately admitted to being in possession of images and videos containing child pornography of infants and children ages one to nine.

Following a joint effort by the Office of the State Attorney and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the defendant was convicted and was sentenced to twenty years in state prison by Circuit Court Judge Kelvin Wells on May 16, 2023.
