A trip to Publix turned into a life-changing event for one Saint Augustine resident. The Florida Lottery today announced that William Evans, 52, has claimed a $1 million prize from the popular $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game.
Evans traveled to the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to collect his winnings. He opted to receive his prize as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Publix located at 5415 N. Oceanshore Boulevard in Palm Coast. As a result of selling the $1 million winning ticket, the Publix store will receive a $2,000 bonus commission from the Florida Lottery.

The $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR, offers players impressive odds and substantial prizes.
It features two top prizes, granting winners $1 million a year for life, and includes 234 additional prizes of $1 million, like the one claimed by Evans. The game boasts over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes, with overall odds of winning standing at 1-in-4.50.
