A Florida man is behind bars and charged with First Degree Murder in the stabbing death of his wife.
Investigators say 39-year-old Andres Pedro Mateo has been booked into the Martin County Jail on no bond.
On Monday, deputies were called to a home at the 14000 block of SW Cherokee Drive in Indiantown after reports that a man was stabbing a woman.
Once deputies entered the home, Mateo refused to open the bedroom door.

Deputies forced entry into the room, finding Mateo kneeling over his wife’s lifeless body.
She had multiple stab wounds. Also in the room was the couple’s toddler.
A deputy immediately grabbed the child and removed her from the room, while another deputy forced Mateo to the ground. The child was not injured.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died en route to the hospital.
Multiple people who live at that house told deputies Mateo was the person who stabbed the victim repeatedly.
Andres Mateo-Pedro was taken to the Martin County Jail without bond.
