A Florida man has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly making a series of chilling threats targeting specific individuals and minority groups.
51-year-old Nathaniel James Holmes of Jacksonville is accused of transmitting interstate threats to injure others, including threats to kill three specific victims, the children of one of those victims, and Jewish and African American individuals in general.

The indictment alleges that Holmes made these threats on four separate occasions in October. He was arrested on November 1st and ordered detained pending a competency evaluation.
If convicted on all counts, Holmes could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
This case is being investigated by a multi-agency task force, including the FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Secret Service. It is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida and the Justice Department’s National Security Division.
