A Florida man has been charged with the shooting and killing of his half-brother on Christmas day while visiting family in a Chicago suburb.
The incident occurred in an unincorporated Naperville home in DuPage County, Illinois. Kendall Yarborough, 28, of Palm Harbor, now faces two counts of first-degree murder, according to CBS News.
On December 25, 2023, at approximately 3:06 p.m., DuPage County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a distressing call reporting a shooting at a residence in Naperville, according to the outlet.

The address of the incident was in the 25W0-100 block of Wood Court. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered James Watson, the victim, inside the home with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Despite immediate medical attention, Watson was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Investigations into the shooting revealed a disturbing sequence of events. It is alleged that James Watson, who was downstairs at the time, became upset when he couldn’t locate his cell phone.
Frustration mounting, Watson purportedly slammed a card table on the floor.
Meanwhile, Kendall Yarborough, who was upstairs, responded to the commotion by firing a shot toward Watson, striking him in the abdomen.

Following the shooting, family members promptly dialed emergency services and provided aid to James Watson. Law enforcement officers processed the scene and discovered a 9mm Sig Sauer P-365X handgun, along with a spent 9mm bullet casing. Kendall Yarborough was taken into custody without incident from the residence.
Yarborough appeared in First Appearance Court the day after the incident. During the court hearing, Yarborough’s motion to continue his pre-trial detention hearing was granted, delaying the proceedings until the following day.
Yarborough is currently facing two counts of First Degree Murder.
