A Lake County man, Jody Baker, 52, was arrested and charged with unarmed burglary of an unoccupied dwelling after allegedly breaking into his deceased neighbor’s house.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance call in an Eustis neighborhood on Monday evening.

Upon arrival, deputies found Baker inside the neighbor’s house, claiming he had permission to be there. However, further investigation revealed this was not true, as the neighbor was deceased.
Baker was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County Jail on a $10,000 bond. His court date is scheduled for August 5, 2024.
