A Central Florida man was arrested last week for attempting a terrorist attack and seeking to kill Elon Musk at the billionaire’s Tesla Cybertruck event in Texas.

According to the Daily Mail, authorities apprehended Paul Ryan Overeem on Wednesday, the day before Musk’s event, in Austin, Texas, after he drove his truck from Orlando to Austin.

The Blaze, which also reported on Overeem’s arrest, noted that he reportedly posted on Instagram about wanting to commit what police described as a “mass casualty” event.

“But yeah so at teh (sic) Tesla event I’m planning to attach (sic) so up to you guys to stop me,” the post said, The Blaze reported. “I plan on killing people at that even (sic) ok (sic) November 30th and I would like you do something about it so I don’t have to.”

He then added, “I wanna die.”

Overeem, 28, apparently blamed his desire to die on technology.

“My thoughts haven’t been free for over a year. All the electronics around me,” he posted.

The Daily Mail noted that a tipster shared an Instagram post with police, who then tracked Overeem through a phone number linked to his account.

The FBI arrested him in Austin. He was booked on a charge of suspicion of making a terrorist threat, which is a felony. NBC News reported that he was being held on $300,000 bail.

Musk’s event apparently went off without a hitch.

He noted that his futuristic-looking truck is bulletproof, “rock proof,” could tow more than five tons and rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.

Musk, The Blaze noted, said the vehicle would “change the look of the roads,” and that the future “finally looks like the future.”

“What we have here is a better truck than a truck, while also being a better sports car than a sports car in the same package,” Musk said.
