A Florida man was seriously injured after he fell off his bike and was attacked by an alligator on Monday, according to Martin County Sheriff.
Officials said the man was bitten by the alligator at Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart, near West Palm Beach.
According to TCPalm, the alligator that attacked the man, an 8-foot female, was captured alive at the park and a second alligator was also captured.
Alligator trapper John Davidson, who was called in to assist in the capture, told TCPalm that the bicyclist fell off his bike taking a sharp turn, and fell onto the alligator who was in nearby water.
The animal reacted by biting him “two or three times,” said Davidson.
Davidson added that the alligator did not flee the area after the incident, making the gator easy to locate.
