A Florida man who refused to leave a hospital over the weekend was arrested in the parking lot of that hospital trying to sell a stolen UTV.
On Saturday, July 16, 2022, Patrol Division Deputy Bradley Griffin with Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the HCA Florida – Suwannee Emergency Room regarding a patient that had been treated and released but refused to leave the hospital property.
He was also in the parking lot attempting to sell a John Deere Gator UTV, according to deputies.
Upon Deputy Griffin’s arrival at the hospital, he located Jerod Jason Stehle, 50 years old, from Live Oak, FL.
Jerod gave Deputy Griffin several different stories regarding the Gator, but once Deputy Griffin queried the VIN through the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center, he learned that the UTV had been stolen from Duval County in February 2022.
Jerod was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail, where he was charged with Grand Theft.
