DAVENPORT, Fla. – Douglas Kidd, 47, who was wanted for stabbing his cousin more than 15 times and then fleeing the scene, was arrested in Virginia.
On Tuesday afternoon, members of the Norfolk, Virginia, Police Department Fugitive Task Force located Douglas Kidd, who the Davenport Police Department wanted for the violent stabbing of his cousin at a Davenport home last week.
Norfolk Police located Kidd’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, which ultimately led to Kidd’s arrest. Kidd was taken into custody by Norfolk Police without incident.

Last week, Davenport Police obtained an arrest warrant for Kidd, charging him with Attempted Murder following a horrific event wherein Kidd stabbed his cousin more than 15 times.
The motivation for the attack is still unknown. The victim, whose identity is being withheld pursuant to Marsy’s Law, remains hospitalized.
“We are thankful for our law enforcement partners in Norfolk, Virginia, who worked diligently to help us take this violent individual off the streets. We continue to pray for the victim and her recovery,” said Steve Parker, Chief of Police.
