A Florida man is facing charges after allegedly using a clever tactic to film up women’s skirts at a local grocery store. Thomas Ali Burns was arrested on August 14th, 2024, after surveillance footage captured him placing his cellphone in a shopping basket and discreetly positioning it under women’s skirts.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, this arrest stems from an incident in June where Burns was observed taking pictures under female customers’ skirts at a local grocery store.
Surveillance footage showed Burns strategically placing his cellphone in a shopping basket and positioning it under the skirts of unsuspecting women.

Following an investigation, detectives executed a search warrant and gathered enough evidence to arrest Burns. He is currently in the Alachua County Jail with a bond set at $60,000.
Authorities believe Burns may have targeted other grocery stores and large retail chains in the area over the past two years. They are urging anyone who recognizes Burns and believes they may be a victim to contact Detective Adkins at det.adkins@acso.us.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible as more victims come forward.
