MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose that occurred earlier this year.
Michael Patrick Stevens, of Tavernier, was charged Friday for his role in the death of Adam Halenza, 41, of Key Largo, on July 24, 2024.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division determined that Stevens supplied the pills consumed by Halenza. Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of fentanyl in the pills, linking Stevens directly to the overdose.
