Florida Man Arrested For “Extensively” Cyberstalking A Woman He Called “Gold-Digger”

A man who detectives say used social media to extensively harass a woman he knew was arrested Monday following an investigation.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adam Klein, 55, of Naples, and charged him with cyberstalking.

“This individual tried to hide in the shadows of the internet to harass and cause distress to the victim,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “Thanks to the great investigative work of our detectives, we are able to bring some semblance of peace to the victim with this arrest.”

Detectives said Klein created numerous websites and purchased several different domain names in an effort to express his love for her. In some cases, detectives said, Klein used these social media platforms to mock the victim, whom he referred to as a gold-digger.

Detectives said Klein created numerous websites and purchased several different domain names in an effort to express his love for her. In some cases, detectives said, Klein used these social media platforms to mock the victim, whom he referred to as a gold-digger.

He created an online blog in the victim’s name as well. The online posts could be found on various social media sites.

The victim told detectives the posts caused her to feel humiliated, distressed and harassed. She said the posts did not appear to serve any purpose other than to annoy her, and she spent hours contacting various social media companies seeking to have them removed.

Detectives said Klein confessed to the allegations in open court during a 2021 hearing in which the victim successfully sought an injunction for protection against him.

Following their investigation, detectives secured a warrant for Klein’s arrest. He was located at his residence Monday and taken into custody.

The identity of the victim is protected under the provisions of Marsy’s Law.
