Luck was in the air across Florida last week as seven lottery players claimed substantial prizes from various scratch-off games, becoming instant millionaires.
From Pinellas Park to Miami, and Clewiston to Jacksonville, winners cashed in tickets ranging from $5 to $50, reaping windfalls of up to $5 million.
The week’s big winners include:
- Duong Nguyen, 39, of Pinellas Park: Claimed $1 million from the $20 GOLD RUSH LIMITED Scratch-Off, opting for a $795,000 lump-sum payment.
- Nathaniel Wrigley, 32, of Miami: Scratched his way to a $5 million top prize from the $20 GOLD RUSH LIMITED game, taking home $3,960,000.
- J Guadalupe Leon, 68, of Clewiston: Won $1 million from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off, receiving a $640,000 lump-sum.
- Harold Riley, 61, of Jacksonville: Claimed $1 million from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off, also opting for a $640,000 lump-sum.
- Roger Shackelford, 67, of Valrico: Turned a $5 ticket into $1 million with the MILLIONAIRE MAKER Scratch-Off, receiving $640,000.
- Syalon Britten, 46, of Ocoee: Won $1 million from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR game, claiming $640,000.
- Keith Leighton, of Highland Beach: Scored $1 million from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR game, and took the 640,000 lump sum.

Retailers selling the winning tickets also received bonus commissions, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000.
The Florida Lottery’s scratch-off games remain a popular choice, contributing significantly to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
