Senator Rick Scott, along with Senator Marco Rubio and Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart, María Elvira Salazar, Michael Waltz, Neal Dunn, Byron Donalds, and Carlos Gimenez, have penned a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee supporting the nomination of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado for the Nobel Peace Prize.
The letter highlights Machado’s extraordinary efforts to restore democratic governance in Venezuela and her unwavering leadership amidst threats and personal danger.

The members of Congress stress that her actions stand in stark contrast to the oppressive regime of Nicolás Maduro, which has inflicted years of human rights abuses, economic deprivation, and forced displacement on the Venezuelan people.
