Florida saw an uptick in first-time unemployment claims last week. On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Labor released a report that estimated that 6,920 jobless claims were filed in Florida during the week that ended June 1, up from a revised count of 6,276 during the week that ended May 25.
Florida has averaged 6,758 claims over the past four weeks.

The state’s unemployment rate was 3.3 percent in April. The Florida Department of Commerce will release a May unemployment report on June 21.
