A Broward County couple’s attempt to intercept a delivery of stolen goods in Martin County was thwarted by Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives, who were waiting for them.

Kimberly Alexis Marie Livingstone, 37, and Shenton Lloyd Livingstone, 40, both of Sunrise, are accused of using a Martin County resident’s identity and credit cards to purchase electronics. They then allegedly planned to follow the delivery truck and obtain the stolen items by presenting a fake ID matching the package’s label.

The Livingstones’ plan appeared to be progressing as expected, until they encountered a crucial obstacle: the delivery driver was working in cooperation with MCSO Criminal Investigations detectives, who were accompanying him on his route.

When the pair stopped the delivery truck and presented the fraudulent identification, they were met with arrests instead of the stolen electronics. The MCSO described it as a dramatic roadside scene, with the delivery truck carrying both the stolen goods and the detectives.

The thousands of dollars worth of electronics were recovered and returned to the sender. The Livingstones were arrested and transported to the Martin County Jail.
