HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In a collision on I-75 close to Brandon on Thursday, a man was killed when ejected from an SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers responded to I-75 near the SR-60 access ramp on Thursday at approximately 11:52 a.m., according to the FHP.
A Land Rover SUV went off the road while attempting to negotiate a curve on the eastbound entrance ramp leading from the Selmon Expressway to the northbound I-75.

It then made its way onto the access ramp, where it struck the passenger side of a Toyota SUV that was traveling from the I-75 access ramp to SR-60.
Once on the grass shoulder, both vehicles eventually stopped in the I-75 northbound lanes. The driver, a 50-year-old Temple Terrace resident, was ejected when the Toyota overturned.
He was brought to a nearby hospital, where, according to FHP, he eventually passed away from his wounds. The second driver in the collision, a 56-year-old Clearwater woman, escaped the crash unharmed.
