Florida Highway Patrol: Hit And Run Leaves One Man Dead, Vehicle Sought

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – A man walking across Hillsborough Ave around 5:50 am on Sunday, was hit and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Hillsborough Avenue, east of Benjamin Road, and collided with a man who was walking in or across the roadway. 

The impact caused fatal injuries to the adult male Hispanic pedestrian at the scene of the crash. 

Following the collision, authorities say the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Hillsborough Avenue. 

Vehicle parts left at the crash scene indicate the suspect vehicle to be a white 2009 to 2012 model Hyundai Sonata.
