Florida Highway Patrol: 14-Year-Old Shot On I-4 While Driving With Her Dad

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 14-year-old Tampa girl is recovering after being shot in a random shooting on Interstate 4 overnight.

According to FLorida Highway Patrol, on Friday, at 10:40 PM, a 37-year-old Tampa man was traveling westbound on Interstate 4 near Branch Forbes Road with his 14-year-old daughter. 

For unknown cause or reason, the passenger side of their 2017 Volkswagen Jetta was struck by two bullets, one of which penetrated the vehicle and struck the daughter’s leg.

The child was transported to an area hospital for medical care and was last listed in stable condition. 

Currently, there is no suspect description, troopers say.
