A high school band director and teacher in Florida was arrested after it was suspected he was having sex acts with a minor student.
According to an arrest report, South Dade Senior High School teacher Scott Michael Davis was taken into custody on Tuesday at the school.
Davis, 47, is charged with two counts of having sex with a minor, two counts of encouraging a child’s delinquency, and one count of offenses against students by a figure of authority.

According to police, investigators started looking into the possibility of an improper relationship between a student and a school employee after getting a tip from Crime Stoppers.
The student admitted to having a romantic relationship with Davis when an investigator visited the school and conducted an interview, according to the report.
Police say the student claimed that he was hospitalized in November 2022 due to a mental breakdown and that Davis, his band director, had visited him in the hospital to see how he was doing.
Davis has since given the student the freedom to “confide in him and be there emotionally in the minor victim’s needs,” according to the report.
According to the report, the student and Davis started dating in September 2023 and had a sexual relationship that included kissing and touching in the school’s band room.

Police say Davis picked up the student from his home after school on two different occasions, drive to Cutler Bay, and then engaged in sexual acts with each other in the car.
According to the report, during an interview with detectives at the school, Davis made a complete confession.
Records indicated that Davis was booked into jail with a $16,000 bond.
