Private recreational anglers and state for-hire operations in the Gulf of Mexico can enjoy red snapper fishing on specific weekends from September 1st through November 30th. These weekends include Labor Day and Veterans Day weekends, offering ample opportunities to catch this popular fish.
Private recreational anglers can fish in both Gulf state and federal waters, while state for-hire operations are limited to state waters only.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will monitor the harvest to ensure it stays within Florida’s quota.
All anglers fishing from private recreational vessels must register as a State Reef Fish Angler to target red snapper and other reef fish. Registration is free and can be done online or at license purchase locations.
