The full moon is bringing in the big ones, particularly mangrove snappers, which are biting like crazy.

Nearshore:

Offshore:

  • Amberjack: Now that amberjack season is open, anglers are targeting these large game fish around ledges and breaks.
  • Grouper: Deep-sea fishing enthusiasts are reporting good catches of grouper, particularly red grouper and gag grouper.
  • Snapper: Offshore snapper fishing remains consistent, with mangrove snapper, lane snapper, and vermilion snapper all being caught.

Tips & Techniques:

  • Live bait: Live shrimp and pinfish are proving to be the most effective bait for both inshore and offshore species.
  • Artificial lures: For anglers who prefer lures, topwater plugs, soft plastics, and jigs are working well.
  • Early morning/late afternoon: Fishing during these times tends to be more productive, especially for snapper and trout.

Additional Notes:

  • Remember to check local regulations for size and bag limits.
  • Always practice responsible fishing and catch and release whenever possible.
  • Be aware of weather conditions and stay safe on the water.

Tight lines and happy fishing!
