Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign released “The DeSantis Playbook” on Thursday, a brief policy publication that spells out his argument for conservative governance in Florida and beyond.
The Republican governor’s campaign called it “a first-of-its-kind resource for Floridians” that outlines DeSantis’ “Freedom Agenda,” which has made the Sunshine State “a national leader for parental rights, law and order, environmental protection, and fiscally-sound economic policies.”
The “Playbook” is broken down into eight issue-oriented sections covering: education, fiscal responsibility, law and order, environmental protection, election integrity, parental rights, being pro-military, and putting Floridians first.
Each section offers a laundry list of DeSantis’ achievements as governor.
For example, the education portion highlights DeSantis’ fight to keep schools open during the pandemic, his effort to ban classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender ideology for kids in grades K-3, his push to increase teachers’ salaries, and the growth of school choice during his tenure.

As for other examples, the economic section notes Florida’s record-breaking tourism and how Florida outpaces the nation in terms of low unemployment and labor force growth; the law enforcement chapter highlights the state’s bonuses for police officers who relocate to Florida and how DeSantis enacted a new law to crack down on rioting; the pro-family part notes that DeSantis outlawed abortions after 15 weeks and boosted payments for foster parents.
The “Playbook” also contains a section of issues led by first lady Casey DeSantis.
These include, for instance, her advocacy for greater spending on cancer research – she is a breast cancer survivor – and her efforts to raise awareness of the need for more mental health and substance abuse services.
The publication also includes brief biographies of the couple.
In a statement accompanying the book announcement, Gov. DeSantis said, “Florida has consistently led the way on issues like keeping businesses open and kids in school, parental rights in education, standing up for law enforcement and protecting our environment, all while enacting the largest tax relief package in our state’s history.”
