Florida Gov. DeSantis Reappoints Hobbs And McElfatrick To HARTransit Board

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday announced the reappointment of Thomas Hobbs and Brian McElfatrick to the board of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HARTransit).

Thomas Hobbs
Hobbs, who currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Port of Tampa Bay, brings a wealth of leadership and operational experience to the board.

A member of the Florida Army National Guard and a board member of the Propeller Club of Tampa Bay, Hobbs has a strong background in both public service and transportation logistics. He earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social science and his master’s degree in political science from Florida State University.

Brian McElfatrick
McElfatrick is a seasoned legal professional, serving as a Shareholder, Executive Committee Member, and Practice Group Leader at Bush Ross, P.A. Known for his community involvement, McElfatrick previously chaired the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit and has been recognized as one of Florida’s “Legal Elite” by Florida Trend.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Bates College and earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University.

HARTransit, responsible for overseeing transportation services in Hillsborough County, plays a critical role in supporting the mobility and economic vitality of the region.
