Florida Gov. DeSantis Appoints Four To Daytona State College District Board Of Trustees

Governor Ron DeSantis announced today a slate of appointments to the Daytona State College District Board of Trustees. In a press release issued by the Governor’s Press Office, Nellie Lupoli was appointed, while Randall “Randy” Dye, Lloyd Freckleton, and Robert Lloyd were reappointed.

The new board members’ appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Randall “Randy” Dye
Dye, the owner of Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Maserati & Alfa Romeo, is an active community member with strong ties to the local business community. A member of the NASCAR Foundation, Dye was honored as the 2020 Philanthropist of the Year by the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. His extensive experience in the automotive industry and community engagement is expected to be a valuable asset to the board.

Lloyd Freckleton
Freckleton brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as a warden for the New York City Department of Corrections. A retired Colonel from the United States Army Reserve, Freckleton earned his bachelor’s degree in correction administration from John Jay College. His background in leadership and corrections administration is anticipated to contribute a unique perspective to the board’s discussions.

Robert Lloyd
Lloyd is the principal of Lloyd Law and serves as the Chairman of the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also an active member of the University of Florida Foundation and the University of Florida College of Law Board of Directors. With a bachelor’s degree in political science and a juris doctor from the University of Florida, Lloyd’s legal and business expertise will support the board’s mission of advancing educational initiatives.

Nellie Lupoli
Lupoli, appointed as a new trustee, is the Vice President of ICI Homes and an active member of both the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce and Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation.

Recognized with the 2019 Young Leaders Award from the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties and named one of Daytona News Beach Journal’s 40 Under 40 Business Leaders in 2017, Lupoli holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Michigan, along with an MBA from Harvard University. Her academic achievements and leadership in the housing industry are expected to drive innovative strategies for the district.
