Florida Gov. DeSantis Announces Inter-Faith Vaccine Event, New Pilot to Vaccinate Holocaust Survivors

The state has identified 750 Holocaust survivors and spouses eligible for the vaccine in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Martin counties, and is offering them the COVID-19 vaccine this week.

To date, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Florida Department of Health have administered more than 13,000 doses at 25 vaccination sites in partnership with places of worship.

This week, the state is holding another 26 one-day vaccine events with the faith-based community. Please find the full list of previous locations and locations operating this week here.

All appointments for vaccinations at these locations have been filled and walk-ups will not be accepted.

By opening sites with the faith-based community and beginning a program for seniors who cannot leave their homes, Governor DeSantis is continuing to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine for Florida’s seniors.

To date, nearly 1.3 million individuals 65 and older have been vaccinated in Florida, which is more than 72% of all individuals vaccinated in the state.
