Florida Gov. DeSantis Announces 2 Judicial Appointments To Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced today the appointments of Rachael Loukonen and Trent Reichling to serve as judges on the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court.

Rachael Loukonen

Rachael Loukonen, of Estero, brings a wealth of legal expertise to the bench. Since 2019, Loukonen has served as a Shareholder at Cheffy Passidomo, P.A., a prominent law firm in Florida. Prior to this role, she worked as the Director at Dentons Cohen & Grigsby, P.C.

Loukonen earned both her bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from the University of Florida, showcasing her longstanding ties to the state’s legal and academic community. She will fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Schreiber.

Trent Reichling

Trent Reichling, of Fort Myers, has extensive experience in both federal and state prosecution. Since 2018, Reichling has served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida. Before that, he worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County.

Reichling earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his juris doctor from Mercer University. He will assume the position previously held by Judge Steinbeck, who resigned.

The appointments strengthen the judiciary in a region encompassing Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades counties, ensuring continued excellence in Florida’s legal system.
