Two political committees associated with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis raised $1.121 million between Sunday and Wednesday, pushing their total for the year to $31.36 million, according to a recent finance report.

The committees, named Keep Florida Clean and the Florida Freedom Fund, are led by DeSantis’ chief of staff, James Uthmeier. They have focused their fundraising efforts on opposing proposed constitutional amendments to recreational marijuana and abortion rights.

The Keep Florida Clean committee reported raising $950,202 in the past few days, bringing its cumulative total to $24.09 million since its inception in July. As of Wednesday, the committee had spent $16.216 million.

Meanwhile, the Florida Freedom Fund raised $170,850 this week, reaching $7.27 million since its creation in May, with $4.845 million in expenditures. A $25,000 contribution to the Florida Freedom Fund came from the Jobs and Prosperity for Florida committee, chaired by Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nunez.

DeSantis is campaigning against two measures, Amendment 3 and Amendment 4, set for a vote on Tuesday. Amendment 3 would permit individuals aged 21 and older to “possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption by smoking, ingestion, or otherwise.”

Amendment 4 would prevent laws from restricting abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider. Both amendments require 60 percent approval from voters to pass.
