Florida GOP Voters Outweigh Democrats More Than Double With In-Person Early Voting

With just a week remaining before the August 20 primary elections, nearly 1.2 million Floridians have already cast their ballots either by mail or at early-voting sites, according to data available on the state Division of Elections website as of Tuesday morning.

Democrats have a slight edge in mail-in voting, with 412,017 ballots submitted compared to 406,425 by Republicans.

However, the GOP holds a significant lead in early voting, with 141,374 Republicans casting their ballots in person compared to 65,905 Democrats.

Overall, 971,941 ballots have been cast by mail, including 140,254 from unaffiliated voters and 13,245 from third-party voters. Meanwhile, 224,045 people have voted at early voting sites, which includes 15,118 unaffiliated voters and 1,648 third-party voters.

Early voting will continue statewide through Saturday, with some counties offering it on Sunday as well.
