Florida drivers are enjoying a welcome respite from high gas prices, as the state average has dropped 18 cents per gallon in the past 10 days. As of Sunday, the average price stands at $3.36 per gallon, the lowest daily average since July 1st.
According to AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins, this decrease is due to falling futures prices, which have lowered the cost of gasoline production.

However, he cautions that Florida gas prices have been volatile this summer, and a rebound in prices is possible.
Despite the recent fluctuation, the current average is 28 cents lower than the year’s peak of $3.64 recorded in May.
