Florida Gas Prices Dip, But Hurricane Milton May Cause Increase

Florida drivers enjoyed a slight break at the pump last week as gas prices fell 7 cents per gallon, bringing the state average down to $3.10 per gallon. This marks an 11-cent decrease from a month ago and a significant 41-cent drop compared to this time last year.

However, this downward trend may be short-lived. “Oil prices rose last week on concerns that tensions in the Middle East could widen,” explained Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “This could contribute to an uptick in pump prices as Floridians prepare for Hurricane Milton.”

Adding to these concerns, oil prices surged to a five-week high last week, with the U.S. price for crude oil settling at $73.98 per barrel on Friday.
