Florida Fugitive Receives 25-Year Sentence After Attempted Stabbing Of US Marshal

A man who was on the from felony charges in Okaloosa County has been sentenced to 25 years in prison following his attempt to stab a member of the US Marshals Service Task Force during his arrest last year.

Steven Alexander Jamison, 22, was apprehended in Walton County in November 2023.

He was facing charges of sexual assault on a child and child abuse in Okaloosa County. During his arrest, Jamison tried to stab a US Marshal multiple times, but the officer’s protective vest prevented any injury.

Following his arrest, Jamison was held in the Walton County Jail until his sentencing on August 22, 2024.

He received a 25-year sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections, with a mandatory minimum of five years for the aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer charge.
