PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – In the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the Florida Fire Marshal’s & Inspectors Association (FFMIA) has deployed fire safety inspectors to assist local fire departments across Pinellas County, including Treasure Island.
These skilled professionals are providing crucial support to communities working to recover from the devastating storms.
The FFMIA team is collaborating with local authorities to conduct safety assessments of damaged structures, assist with crisis response, and implement public safety initiatives. Their expertise is vital in ensuring that buildings are safe for re-entry and that potential fire hazards are minimized during the cleanup and rebuilding process.
Community Appreciation Lunch
To express gratitude for the dedication of local first responders, the FFMIA will host a lunch on Saturday, October 19th, at noon next to Treasure Island City Hall. This event will celebrate the partnership between the FFMIA and Treasure Island Fire Rescue, highlighting the importance of teamwork in overcoming the challenges posed by the recent hurricanes.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from the inspectors and first responders who have been working tirelessly to ensure community safety.
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the FFMIA to supporting communities in need and promoting fire safety during disaster recovery.
