Florida’s State Board of Education is set to decide next week whether to allow high school athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL).
The Florida High School Athletic Association has already given the go-ahead, but the education board will make the final decision.

If approved, Florida would join over 30 other states that have already permitted NIL compensation for high school athletes.
This move follows recent changes allowing college athletes to benefit from NIL deals, a practice that has gained significant traction since a 2021 Florida law opened the door for college-level compensation.
