K9s United, a non-profit supporting law enforcement canines, is calling on Florida drivers to pre-order their specialty license plate before the October 15 deadline. With over halfway to their 3,000 plate pre-sale goal, the organization needs Floridians’ help to start production and provide vital funding for these heroic dogs.

Drivers can show their support by pre-ordering the plate for $33 at authorized service centers or $34 online through the K9s United website. A significant portion of each sale, $25, directly funds essential training, equipment, and advocacy for these working dogs, contributing to an estimated $75,000 in annual support.

“We are so grateful to the Florida drivers who have proactively pre-ordered our specialty license plate, but we need additional help to meet our 3,000-plate goal to get them into production,” said Debbie Johnson, president and founder of K9s United. “This plate is a unique way law enforcement supporters and dog lovers can help fuel the vital training, lifesaving equipment and crucial legislation K9 teams need to stay safe while serving their communities on the front line.”

Pre-orders are open to all drivers, regardless of renewal status. Once produced, drivers will receive a voucher and notification for pickup at their local agency.

K9 units face funding challenges, often lacking resources for advanced training and equipment. K9s United bridges this gap, ensuring K9 officers and their partners have what they need.

Beyond funding, the organization actively advocates for K9 welfare. They successfully supported two Florida laws: one increasing penalties for harming K9s and another enabling faster emergency care for injured K9s. They are also working to pass these laws federally.
