Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday slammed both a member of the radically left “Squad” and President Joe Biden for her support for Hamas and her unwillingness to condemn the atrocities the terrorist group has committed against Israelis in recent days.
The Republican governor was reacting to a Fox News clip on X (formerly Twitter) during which a reporter chased left-wing Democratic Rep. Rashia Tlaib for more than a minute, trying to get her to comment on reports that Hamas militants have beheaded 40 Jewish infants and were burning Israeli children alive.
The reporter also asked Tlaib why she has posted a Palestinian flag outside her office in Washington.

In the clip, Tlaib, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, refused to answer any questions and dodged the reporter until she reached an elevator she entered while shielded by one of her staff.
In response to that exchange, DeSantis on Wednesday circulated a clip on X of Tlaib saying that she gets a “calming feeling” when pondering the Holocaust.
She said that feeling arose while thinking about her ancestors losing their land, their livelihoods, their dignity, and in some cases their lives, “all in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews.”
DeSantis then shifted to Biden.
The account DeSantis War Room, the governor’s rapid response team, posted a video of Biden praising Tlaib.

“I admire your intellect. I admire your passion…You’re a fighter, and thank you for being that way,” Biden said at an event attended by Tlaib.
Then, in a third post, DeSantis’ team replayed the Fox clip, asking in an accompanying post, “Why hasn’t Joe Biden immediately condemned this despicable position from his fellow Democrat?”
For her part, Tlaib issued a statement on Wednesday, and immediately played the victim card.
“I do not support the targeting and killing of civilians, whether in Israel or Palestine,” Tlaib said, according to the website Michigan Advance.
“The fact that some have suggested otherwise is offensive and rooted in bigoted assumptions about my faith and ethnicity.”
Michigan Advance noted that the Detroit Democrat initially was sympathetic to the terrorists who have killed more than 1,000 Jews, including at least 22 Americans, since Saturday.
Tlaib first said that she does “grieve the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost yesterday, today, and every day.”
But then she noted that she is “determined as ever to fight for a just future where everyone can live in peace, without fear and with true freedom, equal rights, and human dignity. The path to that future must include lifting the [Israeli] blockade [of the Gaza Strip], ending the occupation and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating, dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance.”
“The failure to recognize the violent reality of living under siege, occupation, and apartheid makes no one safer,” she added.
“No person, no child anywhere should have to suffer or live in fear of violence. We cannot ignore the humanity in each other. As long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government, this heartbreaking cycle of violence will continue.”
