Florida Congressman Rips NBC Refusing To Run Ad Critical Of Chinese Communist Government, US Companies That Prop It Up

A Florida congressman ripped NBC on Saturday for its refusal to run a TV ad critical of China and those kowtowing to its communist government during the winter Olympics.

Rep. Michael Waltz, a Republican, referred to the Olympics, now ongoing in China, as the “Genocide Games” in his commercial, which NBC reportedly rebuffed because it referred to some of America’s biggest corporations – which, Waltz maintains, are facilitating China’s human rights abuses.

“This is the equivalent of holding the Olympics in Germany in the 1940s or Rwanda during their atrocities,” Waltz told the New York Post, which broke the story of NBC’s refusal.

“It is beyond the pale that the [International Olympic Committee] didn’t move the games.”

“I think the companies supporting it should be absolutely ashamed,” Waltz, the first former Green Beret elected to Congress, added. “Many of them preach social justice and contribute millions of dollars to social justice causes and yet are turning a blind eye to the genocide going on. Many of them are complicit with their own supply chains.”

Waltz’s ad referred to by name and logo Visa, Coca-Cola, Nike, Intel, and Procter & Gamble.

The commercial was set to air in Washington on Monday night during the games.

It also featured Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter Freedom, a Swiss-born Turk who became an American in November, and who has been sharply critical of China. In the ad, Freedom, his name after he officially changed it, tells viewers to “stand for freedom” and “defund the dictators.”

The commercial ends with Waltz and Kanter: “When you see made in China, put it down.”

Waltz’s spokesman told the Post that NBC said it would run the ad if the corporate logos were removed. Yet, he added, that’s kind of the point.

That disclaimer allowed NBC to say it was not refusing the commercial.

Yet Waltz’s spokesman, James Hewitt, told the Post, “It defeats a major purpose of the ad: to highlight US sponsors’ culpability with China’s human rights abuses. The point of the ad was to target Olympic audiences in DC.”

  1. NBC, the NO BRAINS CORP. is in cahoots with the Chinese Communist Party as some of them are card-carrying members of the Chinese Communist Party!
