Florida Community Care, a health plan awarded a Medicaid managed-care contract, has entered the legal fray to defend the state’s decision against a lawsuit filed by a losing bidder.
ImagineCare LLC, the losing bidder, is seeking an injunction to prevent the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) from implementing the new contracts while bid protests are ongoing.

Florida Community Care, initially awarded a contract in April and later expanding its service area through a settlement with AHCA, argues it would be directly harmed if the injunction is granted.
The company has filed a motion to intervene in the lawsuit, aiming to support AHCA’s contract awards and ensure the timely implementation of services to Medicaid beneficiaries.
