The Punta Gorda Police Department has arrested 40-year-old Brock Horner, the charter boat captain involved in a widely publicized “boat rage” incident in Charlotte Harbor.
According to police, an investigation led to Horner’s arrest, and he has been charged with Burglary with Assault or Battery.
Police stated that after reviewing video evidence, their marine unit established probable cause to charge Horner in connection with unlawful boarding and threats made during the altercation.

“During the unauthorized entry, Horner reportedly threatened the victim, escalating the situation into a criminal offense,” police said.

The incident gained national attention after video footage was posted on social media by Gage Towels, prompting many online to call for Horner’s arrest.
In addition to the Punta Gorda Police Department’s investigation, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard are also conducting separate investigations into the matter.

It remains unclear whether Horner will face any consequences regarding his captain’s license.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated in our waterways—or anywhere else in our city,” said Punta Gorda Police Chief Pam Smith. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors, both on land and on the water.”
