A bill introduced by Florida Senator Blaise Ingoglia, SB 532, is under consideration in the Florida Senate. The bill proposes to exempt certain disabled veterans from paying tolls on Florida toll facilities.
The bill aims to amend Section 338.155 of the Florida Statutes, which outlines who is exempt from toll payments.

It seeks to add a new exemption for: “A person who has been determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or its predecessor to have a service-connected 100-percent disability rating for compensation or who has been determined to have a service-connected disability rating of 100 percent and is in receipt of disability retirement pay from any branch of the United States Armed Services.”
This means that the bill would provide a toll exemption for veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating.

To maintain consistency within the statutes, the bill also reenacts subsection (1) of section 316.1001, Florida Statutes, which addresses toll payment requirements and penalties, to include the proposed amendment to section 338.155.
If passed by the legislature and signed into law, the act would become effective on July 1, 2025.
