Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced her strong support for President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration policies, praising his commitment to restoring law and order at the southern border.
Moody, alongside 18 other Republican attorneys general, pledged to collaborate with the incoming administration to address the border crisis and reverse policies enacted during President Biden’s tenure.
In her statement, Moody criticized the Biden administration’s handling of immigration, attributing a surge of over 10 million undocumented immigrants entering the U.S. to lax border policies. She also highlighted the role of transnational criminal organizations exploiting the chaos to traffic drugs such as fentanyl, contributing to over 100,000 annual overdose deaths.

“The last four years, we have seen the Biden administration ignore the rule of law, destroy any semblance of order at our Southwest border, allow millions of unvetted illegal immigrants into the country and put the safety of Americans at risk,” Moody stated. “We are excited to have a president who puts the interests of Americans first. I am proud to stand with my colleagues from other states in support of President Trump’s immigration plan to reverse the dangerous policies enacted by the outgoing administration on DAY ONE.”
Throughout Biden’s presidency, Moody actively challenged the administration’s immigration policies in court. She emphasized her success in several lawsuits against Biden’s executive actions that weakened border controls.
In a joint statement with other attorneys general, Moody said, “The Biden Administration took dozens of executive actions that weakened border controls and sanctioned illegal immigration from around the world. Republican attorneys general fought back… and prevailed in virtually every one of these lawsuits.”

Moody and her Republican counterparts praised Trump’s “America First” immigration approach, which they credit for achieving record-low illegal immigration during his first term. The coalition expressed confidence that Trump’s policies would once again secure the border and prioritize American interests.
“President Trump’s America First immigration policies resulted in record-low illegal immigration during his first term. As evidenced by his historic victory in November, Americans rightly believe that President Trump will once again keep our borders secure and restore the rule of law in immigration,” the attorneys general wrote.
