A Florida attorney has been arrested after investigators found that he was supplying a minor child with drugs and sexually abusing the minor.
On Thursday, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Caitlin Hartigan arrested 48-year-old Jason Volkman, 48, an Ocala, Florida attorney, for four counts of Sexual Battery on a Victim 12 Years of Age or Older but Younger Than 18 Years of Age, Video Voyeurism, Providing a Controlled Substance to a Minor, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, MCSO’s Detective Hartigan was notified that a juvenile victim reported that he was sexually battered by Volkman.
Through Detective Hartigan’s interview with the juvenile victim, it was discovered that the sexual battery occurred on four separate occasions. Volkman also provided the juvenile victim with alcoholic beverages and Vicodin multiple times.
The victim also told Detective Hartigan that he believed Volkman installed a hidden camera in the bathroom where the victim showered.
Detective Hartigan then located Volkman at his home and he was transported to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center for questioning. Once there, he requested to speak with an attorney.
Volkman was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.
