Florida Senator Rick Scott and Kansas Senator Roger Marshall announced today the creation of the Congressional Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus.

This initiative is aimed at addressing chronic diseases, enhancing access to affordable, nutrient-dense foods, improving primary care, and promoting healthier lifestyles.

The caucus has garnered the endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“As the incoming Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, I fully support the Make America Healthy Again Caucus,” said Senator Scott. “Aging starts the day we are born, and my goal is to ensure every American has the resources and information to live long, happy lives. Health is everything, and I am excited to work alongside my fellow MAHA members and RFK Jr. to achieve our mission to Make America Healthy Again.”

Senator Roger Marshall emphasized the importance of nutrition and primary care in combating chronic diseases.

“The MAHA Caucus is committed to improving health outcomes by prioritizing access to affordable, nutrient-dense foods and addressing the root causes of chronic diseases. With RFK Jr.’s support and a focus on transparency and innovation, we aim to build a healthier, stronger nation.”

Several senators have joined the caucus, highlighting their shared commitment to tackling the nation’s health challenges.

  • Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL): “During my meeting with RFK Jr., we discussed ways to make our food and health care systems better. I look forward to working with Senator Marshall and the MAHA Caucus to ensure food safety, bring transparency to vaccines and health care, and Make America Healthy Again.”
  • Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY): “America is sicker than ever. President Trump has prioritized addressing the chronic disease epidemic, and this caucus will help hold federal agencies accountable.”
  • Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI): “Making America Healthy Again is a nonpartisan effort. Restoring integrity to scientific research and federal agencies is key to achieving our goals, and I am proud to join the MAHA Caucus.”

Senator Cynthia Lummis said, “America is sicker than ever, and President Trump has made it a priority to address America’s chronic disease epidemic. I am partnering with Dr. Roger Marshall to make America healthy again and hold the federal agencies who have failed the American people accountable.”

RFK Jr., who has championed health reform, expressed his enthusiasm for the caucus. Earlier this week, Senator Scott met with RFK Jr. to discuss his nomination and shared goals for transforming health care and nutrition policies.

The caucus plans to focus on actionable steps to improve public health, including fostering transparency in federal health agencies, improving access to primary care, and advocating for healthier food systems.
