As Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis warns illegal immigrants not to come to Florida, the state’s top law enforcement official suggests that message seems to be resonating even with Democrats.
Appearing on Fox News on Friday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, also a Republican, was asked about President Joe Biden’s plan to roll back Title 42. That refers to a legal provision, invoked because of COVID-19, that allows the Border Patrol to expel illegal immigrants from the country without a hearing.
“I think even Democrats are calling this a frightening proposal,” said Moody.
She noted analysts who say as many as 18,000 illegals a day could come “pouring in” if Biden follows through with lifting Title 42 next month.
Moody pointed out that Florida is one of 21 states that have sued the Biden administration over the scheme.
“We’re arguing that this has not been thought through. There is no plan, no plan, to combat this overwhelming surge that will occur as a result. But this is par for the course for this administration,” said Moody.
“They make policy decision after policy decision without any forethought or strategic plan — and it’s disastrous for our country.”
Continuing, she added, “This administration comes out routinely and says ‘We know this is against the law. We know we don’t have the power to do this, but we’re doing it anyway.”
“At this point, the states feel the Biden administration is actively working against them.”
As The Free Press reported on Friday, DeSantis recently issued a blunt warning to illegal immigrants. That came after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, announced that 23 illegals in his state had been shipped to the U.S. Capitol.
“To those who have entered the country illegally, fair warning: do not come to Florida. Life will not be easy for you, because we are obligated to uphold the immigration laws of this country, even if our federal government and other states won’t,” the governor’s office told Fox News in a statement.
“Florida is not a sanctuary state, and our social programs are designed to serve the citizens of our state. The governor will protect the sovereignty of the state of Florida,” the statement continued.
“If you have come here illegally, you have been done a great disservice by the Biden administration. They have encouraged you to make dangerous treks, oftentimes at great physical distress to you and your family. Sometimes, this has even meant putting your fate into the hands of dangerous coyotes and human traffickers.”
“There is a legal process to obtain full American citizenship, which is an essential part of the promise of America. In Florida, we will uphold the law,” the statement concluded.

I welcome legal immigrants , if we spent these resources used on illegal aliens to process legal immigrants we would have a productive economy.
