During her speech at the Florida Tax Collectors Association Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody emphasized the importance of vigilance in identifying and reporting voter fraud.
As key public officials, tax collectors across the state interact directly with residents, handling tasks such as issuing vehicle tags, hunting licenses, driver’s licenses, and accepting voter registration forms.
With the 2024 presidential election approaching, Attorney General Moody is urging tax collectors to prominently display information on how to report voter fraud through Florida’s Voter Fraud Hotline: 1(877) 868-3737.

“Tax collectors are often the face of government for many Floridians, assisting with essential services like obtaining a driver’s license and registering to vote,” said Attorney General Moody. “Florida has made significant strides in securing the integrity of our elections. Today, I encouraged tax collectors to support these efforts by posting information about Florida’s Voter Fraud Hotline in their offices—ensuring that Floridians know how to report any suspicious activity.”
In 2022, Governor Ron DeSantis established the Florida Department of State’s Office of Election Crimes and Security (OECS) to conduct preliminary investigations into any irregularities or fraud related to voter registration, voting, and other election-related activities. The OECS has reviewed and investigated over 3,000 complaints and allegations of election fraud and has initiated more than 1,300 independent investigations.

Floridians who witness or suspect election fraud can report it by calling the Voter Fraud Hotline at 1(877) 868-3737 or by filing an Elections Fraud Complaint online.
During the conference, Attorney General Moody encouraged tax collectors to post OECS information in their offices across the state, helping to ensure that residents are informed about how to report illegal voter registration.
This initiative is part of Attorney General Moody’s broader effort to encourage public officials to provide information that allows citizens to report criminal activity anonymously and to display public safety messages aimed at preventing consumer fraud.
