Firefighters Rescue Woman From Apartment Fire In Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue saved a woman from an apartment that was engulfed in flames on Thursday.

“Our emergency dispatch center received 911 calls at 7:28 PM on April 25th, 2024, from individuals reporting a fire at an apartment on Cedar Trace Circle in Tampa with a woman trapped inside,” said HCFR PIO Rob Herrin.

The first arriving engine made it to the scene within five minutes and found a two-story apartment building with heavy smoke from the second floor.

Crews made entry and began searching for the victim. Additional units assisted with the search and provided firefighting support to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters rescued the adult female and extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of their arrival.

The patient was transported to a local trauma center in serious but stable condition. There were no injuries to first responders.

The fire investigator determined the cause to be related to cooking.
