Fire At Ruskin Palm Tree Farm Claims More Than 5 Acres

RUSKIN, FL. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire at a palm tree farm at 1998 19th Ave NE. in Ruskin on Wednesday afternoon.

The 911 call came into the dispatch center around 2 pm, reporting a tractor on fire and the flames were spreading to nearby trees and brush.

Crews worked for two hours before the fire was contained and stayed on the scene extinguishing hot spots.

Florida Forrest Service and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office assisted 15 HCFR units with the operation.

The burn area is estimated to be greater then five acres, according to HCFR.
