Final Defendant Sentenced In Alabama Convenience Store Robbery

Marquis Shawn McKeithen, 33, was sentenced to 141 months in prison for his involvement in the armed robbery of a convenience store. This marks the final sentencing in the case, with two other defendants, Kallisa Ann Mendenhall and Jon’derius Lashon Scott, receiving 114 months and 94 months respectively.

All three had previously pleaded guilty to charges related to the robbery and brandishing a firearm. The incident took place on December 1, 2022, when the trio, all armed, entered a convenience store on U.S. Highway 331 in Montgomery County.

McKeithen and Mendenhall threatened the clerk at gunpoint while Scott guarded the door. They fled with cash from the register.

McKeithen’s sentence also includes an additional charge for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, stemming from a separate incident in March 2022.

The case was investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brandon W. Bates.
